BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Former University of South Alabama baseball standout Luis Gonazlez will be inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2019, as announced by the organization Wednesday.
Gonzalez will be inducted on April 27, 2019, at the Birmingham Ballroom at the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel in Birmingham, Ala., as part of the 51st Induction Banquet and Ceremony. He is one of eight former athletes to be inducted into the 2019 class, joined by Tommie Agee, Bill Burgess, Willie Davenport, Bud Moore, Antonio Langham, Steve Savarese and Catherine Reddick Whitehill.
Gonzalez was a three-year letterman at South Alabama, and twice earned All-America honors.
