BOONE, N.C. – Winning its eighth game in a row, the University of South Alabama men's basketball team notched its second two-point win in two days (56-54) against Appalachian State Saturday afternoon in the Holmes Convocation Center.
South Alabama's (16-8, 10-5) Kayo Goncalves notched his second double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds with an assist and block. Tyreke Locure and Michael Flowers also reached double figures with 12 and 11 respectively while each grabbed five rebounds. John Pettway added nine points, three rebounds with a game-high four assists.
Appalachian State (12-9, 6-6) had three scorers reach double figures with Justin Forrest leading the game with 20 points.
