GODFREY LEADS SOCCER PROGRAM VOCALLY AND BY EXAMPLE

Come to a University of South Alabama soccer game and you'll hear a multitude of voices, from coaches yelling to players, fans cheering on the teams and players talking to each other. But stay long enough and you'll hear one consistently above all the others: senior Hannah Godfrey's.

As a center back, the Thornton-Cleveleys, England native is the Jaguars' last line of defense, so communication with her teammates is critical, and as the team captain and unquestioned leader of the team, her voice carries the most weight.

A second-year captain, Godfrey has anchored the Jaguars' back four for the last three seasons and has been a critical part in 33 shutouts over that time, tops in the Sun Belt Conference.
