South Alabama picked up a 2019 football verbal commitment from Florida linebacker Tavian Williams over the weekend.
Williams (6-foot-2, 210 pounds) is the Jaguars' first commitment for the Class of 2019. The Milton (Fla.) High School standout also had interest from Central Florida, Old Dominion and Middle Tennessee State, among other schools, according to the 247 Sports database.
The 2019 class will be the first full recruiting cycle for new South Alabama coach Steve Campbell. The Jaguars signed a number of players in their 2018 class that could count toward 2019 as blueshirts.
