NEW ORLEANS – Five University of South Alabama baseball student-athletes were named all-Sun Belt Conference, the league office announced Monday.
Catcher Jared Barnes, shortstop Drew LaBounty and outfielder Travis Swaggerty were named first-team all-SBC, while first baseman Wells Davis and outfielder Dylan Hardy earned second-team all-conference honors.
Barnes led the SBC in slugging percentage (.768) and on-base percentage (.504) during league games, tied for the lead in home runs (10), second in total bases (73) and ranked third in batting average (.368) and RBI (32). His 13 home runs this season are the most by Jaguar since Ryne Jernigan's 16 in 2008.
