FAST START SPURS JAG WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TO WIN OVER ARKANSAS STATE

MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama women's basketball team built a double-digit lead within the opening three minutes of Thursday's matchup with Arkansas State, and led by Damaya Telemaque's game-high 20 points would go on to pick up an 87-71 Sun Belt Conference victory over the Red Wolves at the Mitchell Center.

Telemaque paced four players in double figures for the Jaguars (13-13, 8-6 Sun Belt), finishing the afternoon 7-of-9 from the field — highlighted by making all four attempts from beyond the three-point arc — while adding five rebounds and five assists. Savannah Jones added 16 points, Shaforia Kines 13 and Kennedi Centers 12, and Antoinette Lewis pulled down 10 rebounds to go along with four blocked shots as well.
