South Alabama held its first scrimmage of the fall on Saturday morning, running a little less than 100 plays in an event closed to the media and the public at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
Evan Orth led the Jaguars' quarterbacks, completing 9 of 16 passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns. One of those scores came on a 10-yard pass to junior-college transfer Jamarius Way, who led all receivers with 71 yards on four receptions.
"I saw a lot of energy; our guys are really a fun team to coach and I'm really excited about their work ethic," USA head coach Joey Jones said.
