NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt Conference announced Tuesday that University of South Alabama sophomore Kory Dixon is the league's women's soccer offensive player of the week.

The Roanoke, Texas native is a first-time honoree.

Dixon scored just one goal last week, but made it count, tallying the game-winner in double overtime Friday night against Appalachian State. The winning score came in the 105th minute as the Jaguars won their Sun Belt opener for the fourth consecutive season, 2-1.

It was the second goal of her career and first match winner. On Sunday against Louisiana-Monroe, Dixon put three of her five shots on target.
