South Alabama held its first full scrimmage of the Steve Campbell era on Thursday, wrapping up the first half of spring drills with an 88-play, 90-minute workout.
The Jaguars' defense shone early, getting three-and-outs on the scrimmage's first two possessions. However, the offense then caught up, totaling 480 yards with four touchdowns on the day.
"There were a lot of good things," Campbell said. "Offensively we had some guys make some plays with the ones and the twos, I liked the way our receivers caught the football and had some good runs after the catch. I thought the quarterbacks executed the offense well for the most part, there weren't a whole lot of balls on the ground.
