Former South Alabama baseball standout David Freese is one of the three finalists for the Rawlings Gold Glove Award as the National League's best fielding third baseman for the 2017 season.
Rawlings Sporting Goods announced the finalists for each position in the National and American leagues on Thursday.
Freese, who played for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2017, joined Nolan Arenado of the Colorado Rockies and Anthony Rendon of the Washington Nationals as the NL third basemen up for the Gold Glove.
Freese is in his ninth Major League season and has never won a Gold Glove.
