Dallas Davis will start at quarterback for South Alabama on Saturday vs. Louisiana-Monroe, Jaguars head coach Joey Jones said Friday morning.
Davis replaced Cole Garvin in the second quarter of a 19-8 win over Troy on Oct. 11, and led the Jaguars to 10 second-half points. In an interview on WNSP's "The Opening Kickoff," Jones said Davis had the better week of practice this week.
"We're going to start with Dallas," Jones said. "Dallas had a good week, Cole had a good week, but I think Dallas is just a little bit better.
"But both of those guys know, they're fighting for the job.
