South Alabama fell to 1-3 this season with a 52-35 loss at Memphis on Saturday night.
The Jaguars tied the game at 21 at halftime and had a chance to take the lead in the third quarter before fading late. South Alabama allowed Memphis (3-1) to gain 563 yards offensively, and did not force a turnover for the first time this season.
Here are five things we learned from the Jaguars' non-conference road loss to the Tigers:
1. It's possible to show improvement, but still lose
The Jaguars gave up oodles of yards and big plays, but hung in against one of the better Group of 5 teams for most of three quarters.
