2 former Auburn players get new NFL teams through waiver claims

Linebacker Corey Lemonier and cornerback Neiko Thorpe have new NFL teams after being claimed off waivers.

The San Francisco 49ers waived Lemonier and the Oakland Raiders waived Thorpe on Saturday as NFL teams reduced their rosters to the regular-season limit of 53 players.

The Cleveland Browns used their position as No. 2 in waiver-claim lineup to pick up five players released by other teams, including Lemonier.

Thorpe landed with the Indianapolis Colts through the waiver process.

Both former Auburn standouts have three seasons of NFL experience. They were among the 10 ex-Tigers waived on Saturday.
