Georginio Wijnaldum’s agent, Humphry Nijman, reckons Barcelona captain Lionel Messi was pretty keen on the midfielder moving to the Camp Nou.
The Dutchman has joined Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer after the French side reportedly made a far more generous offer than the Catalans.
Nijman chatted about the transfer with Fabrizio Romano on his ‘Here We Go’ podcast and said Wijnaldum was chuffed to hear Messi wanted him at Barcelona.
“It was a very big compliment of course that Lionel Messi was outspoken about it and was really keen on letting Barcelona bring in Georginio.
