With a summer packed full of international matches for Mexico's senior men's, women's and youth national teams, Mexican soccer fans hardly have had any days without soccer since Santos Laguna lifted the Clausura trophy. But the Guerreros' title defense, and the rest of the Liga MX contenders chase of the champion, begins this weekend.

Here are a few things to watch for as the league kicks off this weekend.

Star power - The offseason saw the arrival of a number of stars to Liga MX, including Tigres bringing in strikers Andre-Pierre Gignac and Ikechukwu Uche plus Mexican midfielder Javier Aquino in a big-spending offseason.
