West Ham Supporter Stabbed Outside White Hart Lane Prior to Match vs. Tottenham

A West Ham fan was stabbed in a confrontation outside White Hart Lane before Tottenham Hotspur played the Hammers in the Premier League.

Jeremy Wilson of the Telegraph reported the supporter was taken to the hospital, but his or her injuries are not thought to be serious.

The attack occurred between Tottenham High Road and White Hart Lane, where police recovered a blade, per Wilson. West Ham, Spurs and the Metropolitan Police are now working together to investigate the matter to uncover the events of Sunday.

The two clubs have a history of "confrontations and abusive chanting," as reported by Wilson, with fans being jailed after a brawl in 2009 involving both sets of supporters near Upton Park.
