The moment that the UEFA Women’s Champions League final kicked off in Budapest, it was already a success.

24 hours previous, UEFA had launched their first ever women’s football strategy, by the time kick off came there were nearly 20,000 fans in the stadium, and importantly, this was first time ever that a Women’s Champions League final had its own host city.

At a time when every single host nation or city of any tournament is seemingly under a lot of scrutiny – Budapest was the perfect choice.

It’s not only beautiful in terms of the history, architecture and weather.
