Patrick Vieira's final match in charge of a Manchester City youth outfit ended in a 1-1 draw that sealed the Under-19s' path to the next round of the UEFA Youth League.
Vieira will embark on a new challenge as head coach of New York City FC, also owned by the City Football Group, from Jan. 1 and bowed out of his current role with a hard-fought draw against Borussia Monchengladbach.
The Young Blues did it the hard way, however. Having won their first four matches, Vieira's men lost to Juventus last time out and flirted with second place, which would have meant a two-legged playoff with a team from the parallel 'Domestic Champions' route to the final.
