Víctor Valdés receives two match ban after cursing as Barcelona youth manager

Víctor Valdés has received a two-match ban after cursing during a match as manager of Barcelona’s U19 team. The former goalkeeper was accused of saying “vete a la mierda” towards an assistant referee, an expression not unlike “go f—- yourself.” But Valdés claims he was saying it towards his own bench, not to any referee.

The team he managed, known as Barcelona Juvenil A, won their first match of the league season 1-0 against Girona. But the coach himself was sent off towards the end of the match after a foul was called in favor of Girona.
