UEFA opens disciplinary cases against Dnipro (The Associated Press)

NYON, Switzerland (AP) -- UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against Ukrainian team Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk for racist behavior by its fans and several other offenses during its Europa League semifinal match against Napoli.

UEFA says Dnipro is also being charged after its supporters set off fireworks, invaded the field after the game and were engaged in crowd disturbances in Thursday's game against Napoli in Kiev. Dnipro won 1-0 to advance to the final.

In another charge, UEFA says there was ''insufficient organization'' inside the stadium because stairways were blocked.

The charge of racist behavior could refer to a banner that had a symbol used by the Azov Battalion, a fighting unit involved in the conflict in eastern Ukraine and with links to far-right groups.
