TV station comes clean over 'Fat Ronaldo' pictures

A minor scandal broke out over the definition, or lack of, on the Real Madrid forward's stomach, which the channel explained as a botched attempt to remove advertising.

Catalan television station TV3 has admitted it doctored a photograph of Cristiano Ronaldo to expand the Real Madrid star's toned stomach.

Madrid’s official TV channel had accused its rival of photoshopping the Portugal international’s stomach to tone down the definition of his abdominal muscles.

TV3 confessed to changing the photo, while denying there was "malicious" intent behind the alteration.

Esport Club journalist Jordi Ramos explained that the "appearance of brand names" caused the channel to make changes, while the program also showed pictures of Cristiano's abs au naturel to rectify the mistake.
