Toluca beat Club America 2-1 in long-awaited return to Estadio Nemesio Diez

Toluca celebrated their return to the Estadio Nemesio Diez with a 2-1 win over Club America on Sunday.

After months of construction, Toluca made quite an impact in their first game back to their home stadium, and it didn’t take long for them to take the lead when Gabriel Hauche scored a superb strike from long-range on 12 minutes.

Club America, who were playing in their first game of the Clausura, hardly threatened in the opening exchanges, but the Aguilas came to life after a penalty was called for a handball in the 23rd minute. Michael Arroyo stepped up and slotted home to level things at 1-1.
