Ter Stegen’s Barcelona future in doubt as Monaco renew interest - report

Marc-André ter Stegen’s time at FC Barcelona could be nearing its end, with AS Monaco once again showing interest in signing the German goalkeeper. After recently securing Ansu Fati on loan, the French club is reportedly exploring a second deal with the Catalans, this time for a veteran shot-stopper who has lost his place in the squad.

Barcelona’s new manager Hansi Flick has informed Ter Stegen that he will not be the starting goalkeeper next season. Instead, Joan García, recently signed from Espanyol, and veteran Wojciech Szczu0119sny will occupy the top two spots. Ter Stegen is now effectively third choice, a surprising fall from grace for the long-time Barça number one.
