Suicide Bomber Kills Dozens in Attack on Iraqi Soccer Match

A suicide bomber left 29 people dead and 60 others wounded after he blew himself up in a soccer stadium 30 miles south of the Iraqi capital of Baghdad on Friday, security officials told Qassim Abdul-Zahra of the Associated Press.

The explosion reportedly occurred in the city of Iskandariyah.

CNN international correspondent Arwa Damon and Fox News reported the Islamic State—commonly known as ISIS—claimed responsibility for the attack.

Tuesday, ISIS claimed responsibility for bombings in the Belgian capital of Brussels that killed at least 30 people and wounded 230 more, according to CNN's Catherine E.
