Sofapaka handed Gor Mahia a third Kenyan Premier League (KPL) loss of the season in a 3-1 win at Narok Stadium on Sunday.
Promise Chinoso scored twice and Sebastiene Ikekhai scored the third one while the champions got their only goal from Samuel Onyango's strike.
It only took Sofapaka some seconds to shock Gor Mahia with an early opener when Chinoso's header beat goalkeeper Robert Mapigano who had hardly settled in his area.
Richard Aimo was lucky not to concede in the ninth minute when he dilly-dallied with the ball and invited Onyango to close in on him.
