Smell of injustice: Swedish player cops farting red

Pershagens SK's Adam Lindin Ljungkvist has received one of the most bizarre red cards of all time.

A Swedish footballer has been sent off after a referee accused him of "deliberate provocation" and "unsportsmanlike behavior" for farting during a match.

Adam Lindin Ljungkvist, who plays for Pershagens SK, was taking part in a game against Jarna SK's reserve team in the seventh division of Swedish football.

However, the left back was shown a second yellow card in the 93rd minute after letting off an audible fart close to the referee.

"I had a bad stomach, so I simply let go," the 25-year-old told Lanstidningen Sodertalje.
