Vermes confirmed reports that Mensah was being looked at by SKC
A few days ago there was a report in the UK that Ghanaian defender John Mensah was to undergo a trial with Sporting Kansas City. With the perceived lack of depth at center back it was no secret that Sporting KC manager Peter Vermes was looking to bring someone in during the summer transfer window. Mensah, 32, has played at Sunderland, Lyon and Rennes.
When asked if there was any truth to the report, Vermes replied:
Vermes: Yes there is but he is not going to be here.
