Rojo confirms 'bittersweet' Man Utd return after frustrating Estudiantes loan spell

The Argentine defender's six-month stint in his homeland was blighted by injuries, and he will now make his way back to Old Trafford

Marcos Rojo has confirmed his "bittersweet" return to Manchester United after a frustrating loan spell at Estudiantes.

After falling down the squad pecking order under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the first half of the season, Rojo was sent out on loan to his boyhood club in January to get some regular minutes under his belt.

Unfortunately, the combination of an ankle injury and the coronavirus outbreak has restricted the 30-year-old to just one appearance for Estudiantes over the past six months, and he is now set to make his way back to Old Trafford.
