Rafa Yuste has denied claims that Barcelona asked Xavi to fire his brother Oscar Hernandez as part of discussions that resulted in the coach staying on for another year.

Xavi confirmed last week that he had changed his mind and would now see out his contract at the club that runs until 2025.

Yuste says firing Oscar Hernandez, who has an unbeaten record when taking charge of the team during Xavi’s absence, was never discussed.

“There is no truth at all. We are 100% with this technical staff. Of course we have to improve and he is the first to say that we are going to work and always with a strong unit,” he added.
