Pumas closed out their pre-season with a 2-0 victory over Leganes. Pumas easily defeated a Spanish side that could never get comfortable with the extreme heat and the Mexico City altitude and never gave much of a contest. Pumas will now start their season with an away game against Santos while Leganes travels to the United States to face off against a couple of USL teams.
The 1st half started with Pumas coming out with a starting 11 close to the one expected to be their best team for the regular season. A great thru pass from Adalberto Carrasquilla would find Guillermo Martines, who got past Leganes’ goalkeeper, Javi Garrido and then got off a left footed shot into the empty net to score and give Pumas the early 1-0 lead.
