Premier League clubs spent a record 870 million pounds during the recent transfer window, with spending in 2015 reaching £1 billion overall.
Transfer spending in the Premier League has reached one billion pounds ($1.53 billion) in a calendar year for the first time.
The English summer transfer window closed on Tuesday, with spending reaching a new record of £870million, according to analysis by business advisory firm Deloitte.
This marked a rise of four percent on the 2014 figure of £835m and moves overall spending to the £1 billion barrier when added to the £130 million outlay by clubs during the January market.
