Portland Timbers acquire Jack McInerney from Columbus Crew SC

The 23-year-old forward will join the fourth team in his professional career.

The Portland Timbers have acquired forward Jack McInerney from Columbus Crew SC in exchange for targeted allocation money and general allocation money.

McInerney, 23, joins his fourth MLS team in a six-year professional career. He has made 143 career appearances (87 starts) in his career, scoring 38 total goals.

“At a young age, Jack has proven goal-scoring ability in MLS and CONCACAF Champions League and we are excited to add him to a strong group of attacking talent,” said Gavin Wilkinson, general manager of the Timbers in a club release.
