Peter Crouch says Tottenham Hotspur should have signed Newcastle United’s Callum Wilson or Chelsea’s Timo Werner

Tottenham Hotspur lost their new Premier League season opener to Everton at N 17 yesterday, and boss Jose Mourinho will hope to bring in a striker before the end of the summer transfer window. Signing a cover for Harry Kane has proven to be herculean for Spurs over the last two windows, but BBC pundit and former England international striker Peter Crouch reckons Newcastle United summer signing Callum Wilson wouldn’t have minded playing second fiddle to the Englishman. He is also wondering why the North Londoners didn’t go after Chelsea summer arrival Timo Werner as he believes his versatility would have come handy within their attacking ranks.
