Every Barcelona fan knows the story. In 2017 when Neymar left Barcelona, the club decided to replace him with Ousmane Dembele for a hefty £120m. The move was seen as a long-term one given the youth of Dembele.
According to Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu, that project has gotten to the finish line. In an interview Bartomeu said that he believes Dembele is now a better player than the man he was brought in to replace.
“The level of Dembele is now better than that of Neymar,” he told Spanish television. ”He is a much better player and has adapted now.
