For a third time in 2025, Cruz Azul defeated Leon, this time by a 2-1 score, to qualify to the 2025 Clausura Semifinals. Cruz Azul defeated Leon in the regular season and in the first leg of their Quarterfinal series and did so again in the second leg, in the most uneven series of all four played so far. Cruz Azul will now once again face off against their biggest rival in Club America, who eliminated them last season but who they defeated in the CONCACAF Champions Cup earlier this year.
