WNY Flash keeper Chantel Jones received a suspension for her contact with Blues' forward Shea Groom
The NWSL Disciplinary Committee announced Tuesday that Western New York Flash goalkeeper Chantel Jones is suspended one game for unsporting conduct detrimental to the League. This is the result of the incident involving FC Kansas City rookie Shea Groom in the second half last Thursday.
Groom slid in for a loose ball but Jones had covered it before she got there. Some observers felt that Groom came in studs up but the replay looks like Groom's foot was down but did probably scrape Jones' leg.
