Sergio Aguero scored his 100th career Premier League goal but Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw at relegation-threatened Newcastle at St James' Park on Tuesday.
The result put Man City one point ahead of fourth-placed Arsenal, who have a game in hand, while 19th-placed Newcastle moved to within two points of Norwich City and top-flight safety.
The hosts had the first chance of the game when Papiss Cisse headed just over the bar in the fourth minute.
But Man City took the lead in the 15th minute when Aguero scored his landmark goal with a header following Aleksandar Kolarov's free kick from the side of the box.
