1. Mourinho and Chelsea in crisis
Now there are real problems. Chelsea travelled to East London in the hope that last week's 2-0 victory against Aston Villa was the start of a revival. They were sent back west beaten and humiliated. The champions saw Nemanja Matic, coach Silvino Louro and Jose Mourinho all sent off, while still more were cautioned for their behaviour. This was a very public disintegration and though they solidified after the break and drew level through Gary Cahill, Andy Carroll's goal ensured a fifth Premier League defeat for Jose Mourinho's men.
