With Sunday's MLS Cup Final fast approaching, comes a report that league commissioner Don Garber could be ready to use the event to announce the league's latest marquee signing, Carlos Vela.
Milenio journalist Jesus Hernandez reported on Wednesday that Vela's agent, Eduardo Hernandez, will be in Columbus to close the deal for the Mexico international. The contract would reportedly pay Carlos Vela a wage of around $8 million per year.
The report also noted that among the teams interested in signing Vela are the San Jose Earthquakes, Chicago Fire, and New York Red Bulls.
