Mexico's Carlos Salcedo stretchered off against New Zealand

The defender suffered a dislocated shoulder after a collision with Chris Wood and was forced to leave the Confederations Cup group match

Mexico’s Confederation’s Cup took a turn for the worse Tuesday, as Carlos Salcedo was taken off the field on a stretcher against New Zealand.

The defender appeared to be struck by the arm of New Zealand striker Chris Wood in the 29th minute of action and went down in a heap. Despite Salcedo remaining down in his own area, play continued and resulted in a chance for Wood in alone to put the All Whites in front, but El Tri keeper Alfredo Talavera kept the game scoreless.
