Mexico booked their ticket to the Quarterfinals after defeating Suriname by a 2-0 score. Mexico got the victory that got them the 3 points to go thru to the Quarterfinals and also the goals that got them to first place in Group A. The result means that Mexico would win the group with at least a tie in their final group stage match against Costa Rica, who also won and qualified to the knockout stage of the competition.
