Matheus Fernandes signed for Barcelona in January from Palmeiras on a five-year contract but has been largely forgotten about since then.
The midfielder is not due to arrive at the Camp Nou until the summer and is currently on loan with Real Valladolid.
The 21-year-old made his La Liga debut against Atletico Madrid on Saturday and spoke afterwards about the future and his plans to return to Barcelona.
“It will be Barcelona who will decide. The agreement is to present myself to the club for the next season at the end of this season.
