Marc-André ter Stegen has returned early from his vacation and is determined to prove he is still Barcelona’s number one goalkeeper, and is not willing to depart the club this summer.
According to a report from Diario SPORT, Ter Stegen, who arrived at the club on Thursday to begin his pre-season preparations, will not leave Barça “at least until January” when he’ll be fully focused on playing regular football to make sure of his place as Germany’s number one in the 2026 World Cup.
The club captain is set for a talk with Hansi Flick to find out what his future looks like, but he wants to prove he is better than all available options, including new signing Joan Garcia.
