Marc-Andre ter Stegen ‘ready for the competition’ and wants to stay at Barcelona

Marc-Andre ter Stegen has headed off on holiday after featuring for Germany in the Nations League finals with his future at Barcelona very much still in doubt.

Barcelona are closing in on a deal for Espanyol stopper Joan Garcia, meaning Ter Stegen may well be surplus to requirements.

According to Cope’s Helena Condis, the goalkeeper “hasn’t heard from Barcelona” and “isn’t going to call any meetings for the time being.”

Condis adds that Ter Stegen is “ready to face the competition” in goal at Barcelona and has also told his representatives that if any interested parties call then they should be told “he wants to stay at Barcelona.
