Marc-Andre ter Stegen left out of Germany squad due to shoulder problem

Germany confirmed on Friday that Marc-Andre ter Stegen has been rested from their squad to face Netherlands and Russia due to a “slight shoulder problem.”

Arsenal’s Bernd Leno has been called up instead of Ter Stegen, who is Germany’s No.2 behind Manuel Neuer.

According to the German FA, Ter Stegen will have treatment for his shoulder injury which has “bothered him for weeks.”

Ter Stegen has certainly shown no sign of injury this season. The German stopper has been his usual brilliant best, let’s hope the rest will do him good.
