Manchester United have been dealt a heavy blow in their long-rumoured pursuit of Bayern Munich striker Thomas Muller with the German reportedly reaching a verbal agreement over a new deal at the Allianz Arena.
Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal has been linked with a move for Muller on numerous occasions, and Chelsea have also recently been mooted as a potential suitor, per Darren Lewis in the Mirror.
Though Muller is already contracted to Bayern until 2019, the Bundesliga champions are clearly eager to ward off any Premier League vultures and have reportedly reached a verbal agreement with the 26-year-old on a new deal up to 2021, per German outlet Kicker (via James Cambridge in the Express).
