In short, Law scored a goal that perhaps has more half-truths and myths told about it than any other. He had already spent a season with Manchester City before he became a United legend, spending over a decade at Old Trafford. Then when he was released by United in 1973 he returned (perhaps a little reluctantly) to Maine Road, making sporadic appearances, one of which was against United at Old Trafford in the final game of the season.
