Steven Gerrard has been tipped to potentially take on coaching roles at both former club Liverpool and with the England national team after he turned down the chance to become manager of MK Dons.
After recently calling time on his post-Anfield playing career with MLS side LA Galaxy, Gerrard, 36, held talks to succeed Karl Robinson as MK Dons boss but is now "out of [the] running," per BBC Sport's Phil Shepka.
According to Sky Sports, Gerrard had been offered the job but ruled himself out on Monday.
David Maddock in the Mirror reported that Liverpool "are ready to hold informal talks about their star player returning" to the club in a coaching role, most likely in the Reds' academy.
