According to reports in the English media, Manchester City are set to lodge an improved £40m bid for Liverpool star Raheem Sterling.
Yesterday the Times claimed that Manchester City have offered £25m for the Liverpool attacker, but the Merseyside club were quick to dismiss their approach and are believed to be holding out for £50m.
Mirror suggest that the Premier League runners up are planning to come back with an improved offer and will make Sterling one of the best paid players at the club.
City are hoping to conclude the deal swiftly and will offer the England international a salary of £180,000 a week.
