Barcelona star Lionel Messi reportedly wants his new contract with the Blaugrana to include a special release clause that would ensure he can leave for Argentinian club Newell’s Old Boys at some point in the future.
That's according to Diario Gol (h/t AS English), who emphasise the 29-year-old has no intention of leaving Barcelona anytime soon. He hasn't made a secret of his desire to return to Argentina before he retires, however, and a clause aimed for Newell's would make sure the Catalans can't stop him when he does.

All La Liga contracts contain a buy-out clause, which is mandatory, but in the case of top stars like Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, the agreed fee is so high no club would ever even consider triggering it.
